- Android DataStore for application preferences and selected profile information.

The current version does not provide cloud synchronization or online account storage.
4. Data Collection and Transmission
The current version of SkillSteps does not require internet access to provide its core functionality.
The application does not intentionally transmit child profiles, learning records, or practice history to servers operated by The Grocery Patch, LLC.
The application does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or user-tracking functionality in its described implementation.
No online registration is required.
5. How Information Is Used
Information stored within SkillSteps is used only to support the application's functions, including:
- Creating and managing child learning profiles
- Displaying age-related skill suggestions
- Saving guided practice sessions
- Resuming unfinished activities
- Calculating skill mastery
- Tracking practice history
- Displaying learning statistics and achievements
- Remembering application settings and preferences
The current version does not use learning records for advertising or profiling outside the application.

The current version does not provide functionality for transmitting child profiles or practice records to The Grocery Patch, LLC or third-party services.
The application does not sell, rent, or use its locally stored learning records for targeted advertising.
Any information voluntarily included in an email sent to our support address is handled separately from the app's local data storage.
8. Permissions
SkillSteps is designed to operate without requesting access to sensitive device features such as:
- Device location
- Camera
- Microphone
- Contacts
- Phone calls
- SMS messages
The described version does not require the Android INTERNET permission for its learning features.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Child profiles, practice sessions, and learning progress remain stored locally until they are deleted by the user or removed through the Android application data management system.
Parents and caregivers can:
- Edit a child's profile information.
- Delete an individual child profile.
- Reset a selected child's learning progress.
- Remove the application's locally stored data using Android's application settings.
Deleting a child profile removes the associated learning records from the application's local database.
Uninstalling the application ordinarily removes its app-private local data.
SkillSteps is designed with Android automatic backup and device-transfer backup disabled to reduce the possibility of local child information being included in supported Android app backup mechanisms. This does not control independent device backups, screenshots, or copies made outside the application.
10. Data Security
SkillSteps uses Android app-private storage to help restrict access to application records.
The application does not require online transmission of learning data for its core functionality.
However, no mobile device or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should protect their devices with appropriate screen locks, operating system updates, and other security settings.
11. Third-Party Services
The described version of SkillSteps does not integrate third-party advertising or analytics services.
It does not require an external account provider, remote learning service, or cloud database.
Standard Android operating system and Google Play services may operate independently of the application under their respective terms and privacy policies.
